DMX is one of Raps greatest musicians. In the sense his passion, his ability to capture and inspire. When it came to hooks he is the best if not Pac it is DMX.
But DMX has no stand out bars? The only high level lyrical performance I have heard of DMX were before his debut and then 'N1ggaz done started something' anything you could quote from DMX is often some wild sh1t like 'Party Up' lyrics. This is not rare in hiphop to be a great musician without bars like Nelly and them but to be from New York and not a real dart spitter. No Bolo Yeung over drums?
Do you think this is accurate that in just acapella or block ciphers DMX would have likely been washed. If Boomer wasnt there to intimidate dudes I often wonder how he got out of the mid 90s knowing it was purely about darts then it was strictly Jet Li sh1t! I think DMX is an icon and personally his music has been beyond supportive in my lifetime but I can not quote you one straight bullet from DMX
