Is DragonBall Super good as DBZ?

im a huge DBZ fan but still haven’t watched anything of DBS

I wanna wait till all the seasons come out but is it just as good as DBZ was ?


Is it still popular or as popular ?

The 1st two arcs are completely skip worthy. Just watch the Beerus movie and return of Frieza movie. It picks up after that

Not dbz level but let’s see where they take it after the Tournament of Power. Depending on how the other universes fight and the eventual angels vs Zeno plot line it could get there.

Its basically a dumbed down caricature of the original show with more general shounen tropes instead of typical DBZ style writing. Also the art and animation take a little getting used to from the original. Think DBZ hero academia or some shyt in terms of writing.

I really really liked the introduction of beerus and the gods and angels since it first started. my only gripe in the beginning was the animation. I prefer that old school gritty hand drawn stuff to the 3d shyt and some of the story fillers in super was stupid... but that Zamasu arc & tournament of power tho... that was the clincher man...

Except my hero academia actually makes sense. Power scaling is thrown completely out the window...at one point they pretend everyone is on a similar level humans and saiyans alike for example. Power ups generally don’t mean much of anything outside of particular arcs and the plot makes someone strong when they have to be constantly without filling in the plot holes that follow.

Super could surpass dbz depending on how they handle the Moro arc from the db super manga

I was sold seeing that the animation CAN be done amazing in certain episodes under the right people.. DBS serious arcs should be like that ALL the time... Especially like the last ten episodes of the tournament of power...
