I attribute this to it just being a huge success. They are just adding content at the end of the day, which you can buy separately.

Stuff like Last of Us 1 on PS5, Persona 5 Royal, GTA V, & Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is more so milking in my eyes. Even though P5R had new content, you were FORCED to buy the full game again. To my knowledge that's not the case with Elden Ring. I guess people who want just pure single player stuff won't like the recent Elden Ring DLC, but they don't have to play it honestly.

separate releases all within 3 years (that looks insane typing out )

an absolute masterclass in milking an IP, Naughty Dog hate isn't solely from TLOU Part 2's story - the optics of those releases just looked terrible

From could easily drop a definitive edition/upgrade with improved visuals/unlocked framerate/all the other QoL changes ppl have been begging for, but they haven't

most studios would take the easy layup. they're leaving money on the table if anything imo

I loved Bloodborne and I wanted to beat both Darks Souls 3 and Demon’s Souls Remake before starting Elden Ring. But I might skip them and go back to them later
