I agree a project like Microphone Check should have been made, but it should not have been made by Tariq Nasheed. But he did pimp people out of their money, twice.




The first person I heard talk about a project like that was on the Yanadameen podcast, by the DJ Elijah "Rage" Green (webslangermedia). He talked about doing something like that in around 2018/19. And I suspect Tariq heard about it there and decided to make it his new grift, as the usual MO (Modus Operandi) goes.

It's too bad he, Tariq, tried to spin a narrative that is based on half truths. So horrible he started to attack Melle Mel, Grandmaster Caz, Grand Mixer DXT and other pioneers.

As I said before, I had these conversations in 1988/89 with the Jungle Brothers, and Queen Latifah was there. Afrika Baby Bam agreed with me, while Mike G got upset with me for mentioning that the foundation of the Black Spades etc should be preserved.

You still wonder what my issue is with Tariq? Because he grifts wherever money is to be made. He doesn't care about the truth.

As soon as he saw Dane Collaway (another liar) doing numbers, that became his forte. When Yvette Carnell, Tone and Dr. Sandy Darity was popping that became his forte... and so on...




This ^ is the reason why a lot of people didn't take the documentary too seriously.
