Easy. The Mavericks are playing well this season but Dennis Smith is a ball dominant guard which is not a bad thing per se, the Mavericks have bunches of guys who can score points. Frankie is not a great scorer but in the Mavericks system his contributions have more impact on top of that he will score more points off the strength of operating of a more open floor and whiles isn't elite as a defender his length and hustle makes a him a guy who can pretty comfortably defend the 1-3 on top of that he is a good player off the ball and while the assist numbers may not reflect it he has decent awareness. Dennis would be a better fit on the Knicks because he does the opposite he opens up the floor. He's explosive and can allow the Knicks who low key have a nice corp of bigs and makes Trey Burke redundant in the long run and keeps Tim Hardaway from having to chuck his way out cold streaks.
