Nintendo usually releases good games which is why they usually get good reviews.
And CoD has changed over the years too. Doesn't change the fact that it's the same thing over and over. Nintendo do doesn't take risks, and don't try to create new ips. Every other major publisher at least puts in the effort
I give Nintendo credit for being the most consistent when it comes to making every effort to push gaming in a new direction. Sony and Microsoft only take half hearted measures in that respect. PSVR and Kinect were announced as complete game changers (and stans will see this post and come in here and hit me with smilies and a whole lot of blah blah blindly defending them but not even use them) but they're only peripherals and inevitably they end up being treated like side projects with no real long term commitment. Just look at the way these peripherals were announced and how these companies don't even bother to mention them anymore. Nintendo on the other hand doesn't dabble in little side projects. They commit an entire console cycle to a new idea. Nintendo placed their bets all in on the motion controls with the Wii and cashed in big. Sony threw some motion controllers with no games at the stans and walked away from them.Small guys or not, criticism is criticism.
I need more brehs to chime in:
@Kamikaze Revy @Kingshango
@Responsible Allen Iverson
@Deltron @-DMP- @PS4
@Dre Space Age
Nintendo has created nice amount of new IP this generation, I assume you mean AAA big blockbuster type games? That's not their thing. You can also make the case that Nintendo's classic IP overshadow their New IP as well.
This straw man argument you guys keep bringing up is corny as hell.Brehs just made that BOTW is superior to Horizon Zero Dawn.

As far as their actual games, IMO they're too conservative and closed minded. I was born in 85 so I'm familiar with all of they're flagship franchises. They're incredible, there's no arguing that. My problem is they don't drop often enough. The double edged sword of walking the opposite direction of the other 2 giant game companies is that not as many developers are willing to take the risk with you. Money is the number one motivator. They want to make games that will sell and be available to the largest audience. This keeps Nintendo in a niche of its own. Nintendo should embrace that, and understand they need to work harder than Sony and MS and pump out their titles more often.
Splatoon, Arms, etc.
Nintendo makes games, so many that they have to make a new system every few years just to have a place to put them. But they are only a few great games made by Nintendo each gen. The rest are still good, most are sequel's tho.Small guys or not, criticism is criticism.
