Legit some of you guys spend more time worrying about what you don't have than being grateful for what you do have.

Not saying everything is great for everyone but damn, you guys seem to have good health and if you have a 9 to 5 at least you have a job/food in your stomach. Dame Dash fukked your guys brains up.
Not me bruh, Im grateful for everything I have and the life the opportunities Ive been handed afford me.

People who dont maximize and capitalize on their opportunities/situations deserve to fail and suffer, IMO.

Word. You can tell who here has really had to work in their life.

Tell people pulling graveyard shifts in warehouses, working sporadic retail/fast food shifts, doing landscaping, construction etc just to put food on their kids' table that you hate your 9 to 5.

Seriously. I work a 9-5 (though begrudgingly doing so), lift on my lunch breaks and try to "live for the weekend". Even if its just a means to an end, I realize that it does provide me a life that I'm grateful for. Health insurance (type 1 diabetic) gym membership, condo, car, disposable income, etc.

So when I'm in a funk, not quite satisfied with life or disillusioned by some of society's manufactured views on what "happy" is... I just remind myself that it could always be worse. As corny and cliche as it sounds, I'm thankful for what I have.

Agreed 100%. If you work a 9 to 5 but never try to move up, never try to expand your career/skill set, you deserve to be miserable.

But I think some people fail to realize that their opportunities/situation/capability maybe just being an accountant or some regular office 9 to 5. Not everyone is supposed to be a millionaire business owner nor are they built to do it. I also think people assume a 9 to 5 is Office Space. I don't know about you but I technically work a '9 to 5' but I get to do a ton of cool shyt.

Sometimes people's "dreams" are delusional. I KNOW you got a friend or family member who isn't realistic with shyt, We all do.

The first part of your post is real talk. None of us drive a Ferrari but at least most of us can get around. We aren't walking 5 miles to get water. We don't have to run outside to shyt. I may not be able to fly to Hawaii on a regular basis to chill out but I can goto Vegas for the weekend. You being diabetic and having the means to have a healthy diet, have a gym pass, have the insurance safety net to catch you is worth so much more than ANY retail item.

When I am in a funk because we ALL hit it, I know rich ass muhfukkas who have more money than god who get in a funk.......I remind myself how insignificant my funk and my problems are in the grand scheme of life. If you are on your death bed or a family member is ill, are you going to fall back to worry about how you couldn't eat filet minot every night?

Right? And to think it could all be taken away in one fell swoop. I look at where I'm at in life now and try to force myself to think that this is the best its going to get. It's difficult sometimes but it helps me personally keep things in balance.

I am a generally optimistic person and truly believe there is more good to come in my life but I'll be damned if I cant also come to the self realization that it could always be worse. I like putting things into perspective I suppose.

I mean even within that though, a regular office 9-5 is pretty damn good. I was listening to NPR and there was a show about a town full of people on disability.... some of the people there had never seen a job where you didn't have to be on your feet. Lot of folks have no idea and don't appreciate where they are in life.

Yea its all about this kind of perspective. The real luxury afforded by money is security and choice. Having the security of healthcare or a couple of dollars to cover emergencies. Having money to be able to choose what you eat, where you live, where your kids go to school. Etc. etc. More money doesnt matter if it doesnt afford you security/choice... Id rather people have free healthcare and quality schools than more money and the same shytty quality of life, even if it means my taxes going up :yeshrug:

That's an interesting way of putting and I never looked at it like that. It really is about choice. If your job affords you the ability to have choice you are doing alright.

Personally, I like living in nicer areas. Nicer areas tend to have more taxes and be more expensive. If you want things to be nicer people have to be healthy (health care) and be educated so you and I feel the exact same way.

9-5 is not realistic and is a fukkin Shame on humans as a whole. No time for family, you can't live your life you spend more time with strangers than your family scheduling time just to get a dentist a Fukkin appointment and working a job to pay bills. Life is not suppose to be like that.

Sorry for the run on and non sentence structure. I am using a touch phone at my desk.
yep, in todays society the minute you're born you are a slave to "work"

Depends on your personality and the make up of the office/work environment. Routine is okay for me but co workers almost always make it a bytch . Back stabbing, gossiping, micro management, all that :camby:Not trying to be a misogynist but working with the ladies can get chaotic quick, just in my experience.
yep. i went and got my CDL and started driving trucks for this very reason. no more coworkers for me:scust:

You need to have a routine, wake up an hour or 2 early, people need to remember that we actually have 24 hours in a day, spend an hour reading up on coding, or an hour at the gym(if ur getting big) , pack away the ps4, imagine your brain knows the location INSTANTLY for cars and weapons for GTA, that space could be used for something like learning a new language...I've applied these steps to myself recently, I noticed we are nearly 4months in 2015 yet I could still remember what I wore/ate on New Years day, that told me I wasn't Learning enough shyt for my brain to really think long and hard....

Apply yourself
:whoa: Hold on there, playa. No need to go overboard. There's always room for playstation.

:rudy: OP you can't even BEGIN to imagine what WOAT life really feels like, travel & witness living conditions in certain corners of the globe first. I guarantee what you see will have thanking whatever deity ten folds for the 9-5 life you currently belittling fam......

Case in point;

I recently had just got back from East Africa ( Tanzania aka originally home turf) & while I was out there visiting fam & catching up on stuff, I took a break from being a tourist for 3 days & volunteered (+donated some £££) to help out with some charity work (Taking food, clothes to schools & supervising solar well projects) around the villages & community areas in the desolate regions (Mkuranga district in this case) of Tzed where basic commodities are a far fetched cry for most. This was just so I could get a glimpse of how people are living without simple necessities (clean water/clothes/ electricity) on a daily basis in such atrociously hot, deprived conditions.

All I have to say is....Dear First World Folks count your blessings & thank God for what you have dearly, for you know not what true hardship is,. ...endured some truly heart melting /tear jerking moments :to:

Thanks to the ARF (African Reflections Foundation - linked for those curious, check out what they do) for giving me this valuable experience. It truly was an eye opener to go away from the cities where I grew up to go see just how REAL the struggle can get in remote areas where fukking drinking water is a miracle & here is us first world deviants making a huge deal over our crap internetzzz service ,weak wifi signals & whining about a fukking 9-5...the time out there made me feel so pathetic for acting up on some of the things I deemed ' real problems'. I have come back to the UK (where I live...for now) with a different perspective on life as I know it & have promised myself to work even HARDER, appreciate the life that I lead even MORE & try not to complain about there not being enough fukking ketchup on my food, because some people don' even have ANY food to put ketchup on in the first place!

P.s:Obligatory visuals enclosed in the spoiler below just in case some of you think this is all :duck:
