or at least a classic battle under your belt.

2pac has Hit em up

Nas Ether

Jay Z Takeover

Ice Cube No Vaseline

Biggie Long Kiss Goodnight (sort of)......and so and so forth.

I feel like it solidifies your legendary status more. Would we be talking about KRS 1 as much if he didn't drop the The Bridge is Over? :sas1:

If you agree, with the above statement...how do you feel about Kanye never engaging in a battle?...Damn near every rapper worth his salt has a well-known diss record. Even Drake now :skip:

Rakims' disses were always subliminal yet he was considered GOAT before anyone on your list.

Every rapper should have a non-subliminal diss record in their repertoire, not just the great ones.

Does Kendrick's "Control" verse count as a diss? Given how passive the industry was when he dropped it, IMO it would count.

Great point. I think it can count...even though it wasn't intended as a diss it was taken as a challenge by many rappers.

And the subsequent basically made it a kind of industry wide battle.
