this video doesn't pertain directly to hip hop so maybe opening a dialogue on this in here is moot, but i forced the correlation while watching, lol. i think most racists associate hip hop with "black" for the most part, but with these mike millers and macklemores and riff raffs and action bronsons and the like infiltrating, for lack of a better word, on such a grand scale (the internet) imagine the possibilities. in like 15 years maybe hip hop will be PERCEIVED as a "white thing", it already is kind of a white thing from a consumer standpoint considering whites are the culture's biggest financiers, but most people view it as black culture. maybe a$$holes like the ones in this video won't feel like ****** lovers if they consume it regularly once most of the faces in it are like their own, :lupe:. which leads to another question, are there racist hip hop heads?

and, how come i never met whites like this?? yall down low? yall racist just in the company of your own? "a person is smart, people are stupid", damn shame. i'm whylin, forgive me, video got me off point and disgusted

:lupe:
Weren't you just saying certain subject matter isn't
fitting of (black) rappers and it likely has a negative impact
on black youth ?

Going by this logic wouldn't it be a GOOD thing that Hip Hop
could potentially become a predominantly white genre ?
Wouldn't it only benefit all the black youth that would be
negatively impacted otherwise ?

With that said it's only a perceived as a "White thing" as far as who
purchases it, because whites are the majority consumers for
pretty much everything from drugs to videogames, that everything also includes
music.
Jazz is still considered black music. (though
there are those who would argue it's more "American"
than "black")
The Blues is still considered black music.
Funk is still considered black music.
Soul,R&B etc. are all still considered black music,
despite the huge influx of white talent due to their simply
being more white people.

I think the same will likely happen to Hip Hop (it pretty much has already
happened in the underground) and I think this shouldn't or
likely won't change Hip Hop's perception as black culture and black music.

With that said I've seen confused and misguided "fans" of Hip Hop
try to argue whether Hip Hop should even be considered Black Culture
and in turn Black music.
Some even going as far as downplaying contributions to the genre by
greats from the 80's and onward while pumping up their favorite
"progressive (white)" Hip Hop artist.

With that said there are many racists who can't speak of anything
about Hip Hop past NWA with more than a couple of them thinking Black American Culture starts and stops with Hip Hop.
They express their hatred and disgust for the music while
still speaking like they're scholars on the genre :pachaha:
I usually ignore those idiots :yeshrug:
A perfect example of this is during the whole Jay-Z Open Letter debacle.
Hundreds of, out of touch,middle-aged idiots were ranting about
Hip Hop and spewing the dime a dozen criticisms I expect from the ignorant
calling it a breeding ground for thuggery with no real social commentary,
saying it takes to no talent and is a perfect example of the degradation
of American Culture.
