:aicmon: yes I think one of the best and arguably the best hitter of all time is a hall of famer :aicmon:

Hes in that Tony Gywnn/Ted Williams tier of hitting ALREADY and thats with him missing most of his 20s not in the league :aicmon:

his batting average over 15 years is .317 with 2900 hits :bryan:

Tony Gwynn strike out numbers though :mindblown:

anyone discounting him cause of power numbers is like someone who doesn't watch basketball discrediting magic johnson for not scoring more. he's definitely in- batting titles, broke records, won mvp his first season & has memorable highlights (throwing out terrence long, inside the park hr at all star game). very unique player

in ken burns' baseball documentary, they talk about his dad turning him left handed just to close the distance to 1st base. thats crazy discipline

I was watching this game when it happened and still today it's one of the greatest plays i've ever seen:

His 'rookie' year was legendary.

I was watching this game too
:wow:

First ballot no doubt. Ichiro would have probably been the all time hits leader if he was drafted at 18 and in the majors at 20-21 like most prospects. The man was a hitting machine and his ticket has been written to Cooperstown a while ago.
