It's true..it's not corny. It's the paradox of the choice they made. Had Roman turned heel at WM 31, we could of moved on to other shyt but they kept him a face and he's still suffering till this very day. Out of touch. So that's why Lesnar has to keep winning..they took the Taker streak and didn't pass it on.

Anyone who has ever beat brock lesnar gets a good rub...the taker win isnt a shine that is new to brock....
Brock was the only choice to beat taker because of how credible he is and it needed to happen eventually...and they had heat leading to it
Brock went on TO KILL CENA in a way never seen before, win the belt, and it was credible...why? Because he just beat taker....and he went away WITH the belt, adding even more credibilty
The idea that brock cant lose at this point is just fukkin stupid, and him losing to someone OVER TWO YEARS after the streak 'wasting' it, is just, absurd.
