I been lightskin all my life. When the color emojis came out, I naturally used the light brown ones. Some bird quickly corrected me and said that's the Puerto Rican shade (). I didnt argue, I just started using the medium brown ones from that day forward.




Fast forward to just 10 minutes ago, I go in the group chat wit the fellas, and this nikka posts a white hand emoji



Granted, i thought the bird was stupid for saying i cant use the light brown one, yet here I am judging this fool for using the white one. what say you

Wasn't that deep to me, which is funny because I'm thoroughly disgusted at this brother using a cac hand emoji. I've just never in my life before seen a black person use a white hand to represent themselves so it threw me off

Light skin people always use an emoji that’s way darker what they are, and dark skin people always go down an emoji. Anytime I see it I smh, like fam you dark as me this is you not this

Well the thing is it was a black girl who says it and she's way more into SM than I am, so I thought there were unwritten rules to the emoji game. Me being down for my people, I didn't want to look like I was tryna claim Puerto Rican or something.


That train of thought made sense to me, which is why I didn't argue with shorty and why Im so disappointed in my man's. But that's why I made the thread, maybe there ain't no rules and nikkas just do whatever. At least that's what it seems like you tryna say

I’m light skinned and still remember calling house phones and being judged from your voice.

Emoji are yellow No one skin is yellow. I’m not a teenage girl so I could care less how I’m judged through a text message but always felt it was a force to try and send emoji’s with my specific skin tone and never thought about it until they came out with different skin tones.

Having specific skin tones emoji is cool and all but I always felt it was born out of racism since white people can get away with sending a yellow emoji but having color in your skin means you have to choose your correct skin tone.

Moral of the rant. Anything other then yellow is a form of racism. Good or bad.
