Is it considered a drinking problem if you don't see the point in not getting buzzed/drunk?

If I'm at a buddy's house or another controlled environment, I don't see the point of having just one beer and watching the game because most alcoholic beverages taste shytty. I drink only to become intoxicated so having a glass of wine with dinner or something like that I just don't understand. When I drink, I'm getting drunk. I don't do this alone though.

It's like I don't wanna get head if I'm not gonna get to bust.

Is this considered a drinking problem? :jbhmm:

If you're getting dangerously drunk to the point you're blacking out, maybe. Otherwise, no if you're not doing this frequently.

Whether or not it's a problem depends mostly on frequency/dependency.

I think its only a drinking problem when you need to get drunk constantly. Like most days of the week constantly. If youre just drinking casually at a friends house a few Saturdays a month or something and then dont drink the other 6 days of the week, then I think youre good.

Im the complete opposite of you. I dont see any reason to get drunk or "buzzed". Its also very rare for me to drink alcohol. I can go months without a drink and not even notice.

I'm pretty sure the only reason most people consume alcoholic beverages is because of its inebriating effect. The problem arises, though, when you're unable to distinguish between a buzz and drunkenness. It's the difference between having a few beers and feeling like :takedat: and having a few beers after you've killed several shots of tequila and looking like :mjlit:.

if we're going by the old standard of drinking, that could be looked at as the sign of a problem

but really it's more about how much you consume on a day-to-day/weekly basis, through binge drinking is just as dangerous

why not make or have drinks you like?

I'm purely social drinker so this is probably like once a month or so I get drunk where I stumble around when I walk. Not blacked out.

somewhere between a pair of D cup tiddies
I couldn't ever have just one :yeshrug:
I start catchin tilt and I don't like the idea of coming down or losing momentum.
Some people are alcoholic and the chain reaction kicks off soon as that first drink goes down.
If you really want the answer to your question then read the AA book :manny:
I'm just talkin about the beginning part. And if you can relate then you have your answer:yeshrug:
Not sayin get sober if you don't want to, but become aware of the signs you need to notice before you're in deeper than you want to be quicker than you'd imagine.
