Is it just me, or is reddit appearing more and more in the msm?

I'm starting to see things from that site appear more and more in news articles and TV news as well.
What is the meaning of this?Employees browsing the net all day and they just have to submit anything?
Yes, it is appearing more in the MSM because it's userbase has expanded exponentially since the mid 2000's. I don't really see it as a bad thing because of the decent discourse that goes on there and the really educated discussions that go on, but there are parts that I don't like. I don't really mind it. It's kind of a big aggregation of what many different people from different walks of life are thinking. I love the perspectives that I get to see there from people that I might not otherwise meet or talk to.
To me, it's not even about all that. I just have a hard time accepting that some news person, browsing forums in his free time, would just repost something he saw online and call it news. Just seems so half-assed to me, like if I were to report a coli discussion on the morning news, especially since message board users are still, and likely always will be, a minority of internet users.

He's a blatant lurker. Always bringing up thread topics but never citing the coli.

Sometimes the discussion on there is far superior to anywhere else on the net. The AMAs are something serious too. A pretty dope idea executed pretty well, I can only see it growing even further in the near future, similar to what Tumblr is doing.
