Is it just me or is there barely a buzz around this Super Bowl?

I'm in Atlanta so there's definitely hype around here, but there's no storyline with this Super Bowl in comparison to the last two. I imagine it doesn't resonate with fans on a national scale outside of the two respective fanbases
Maybe that. And it's not even because my team isn't in. I Just can't remember the last few superbowls being this quiet.

Ravens-Niners
SeaHawks-Broncos
SeaHawks-Pats
Panthers-Broncos

All felt way more hype than this.

maybe because each of those years, the one of the teams you listed featured a black QB :mjpls:

I'll break these Super Bowls down for ya

Ravens-Niners: The obvious storyline was that the Harbaugh brothers would be going against one another. It was Ray Lewis' last game, the 49ers were a huge fanbase back in the Super Bowl and Colin Kaepernick came out of nowhere to lead them there in just his tenth start.

Seahawks-Broncos: Peyton Manning is a media darling won his 5th MVP award and appeared better than ever after having gone through four neck surgeries two years before. Broncos were the #1 offense and looked to be among the most prolific offenses in history. On the other side the Seahawks were the #1 defense and most of America wanted to see them lose because of Richard Sherman's postgame interview in the NFC championship.

Seahawks-Patriots: Brady and Belicheck were back for a record 6th Super Bowl appearance but were coming off two previous losses to the Giants. The Patriots hadn't won in ten years and there was controversy over Deflategate. Meanwhile the Seahawks were attempting to become the first team to repeat in ten years and obliterated the Broncos the year before. People wanted to see if Brady could do any better against the Seahawks defense than Manning did, also there was increased spotlight on Marshawn Lynch's antics with the media.

Panthers-Broncos: It was the 50th Super Bowl so there's that one, but Cam Newton was clearly the story of the NFL last year. He guided the Panthers to a 15-1 record and had them flirting with being undefeated while being named MVP. On the other side you had the Broncos who were trying to avenge their embarrassing defeat to the Seahawks, also there was a sense that this would be Peyton Manning's last game.

This Super Bowl doesn't have a storyline nearly as good as any of those previous Super Bowls did

Atlanta was not as dominant as Carolina last year, or the 2 Seahawks teams that made it. Weaker NFC rep this year.

Pats have no Gronk, so its a weaker Pats team we're seeing.

That combined with only a few close playoff games is why it doesn't seem that hyped.
