Lighting definitely makes a difference.

There are pics of me where I look super dark but I'm actually light caramel.

Add in the fact that she wears hella makeup and her looking so light isn't really that crazy.

You dont have to be to know how certain makeups and lighting interact. Though her whole body is brighter in this shot, you can be sure that high-beam lighting they use,
to get better photos (a well lit subject is easier to autofocus on....but thats CAC talk right).

She is the same color she was last year, and the year before that, and the decade before that.
