Is it me or do people care more about reaction videos and reviews than the actual movie or TV show.

I’ll watch “reaction” videos when the person actually provides insight into it. Such as someone in that profession talking about how accurate the scene is and what is just Hollywood stuff. Or reactions of sports fans when their team loses a heartbreaking game.
But most reaction videos I don’t bother with.

like look at how many people talk about how they're not gonna watch the captain marvel movie but still go watch their fav creator trash it. I didn't even watch the last few eps of game of thrones but it was funny seeing everyone have breakdowns over it in real time
in general I think channels like red letter media and cinema sins have done more harm than good when it comes to film critique. everyone goes out of their way to be overly negative, overdramatic and nitpicky about the dumbest shyt in order to get the most views
