IMO Wayne was always a mediocre talent who benefitted due to dominating a weak field. 50 Cent comparisons make sense. Both didn't really have rivals pushing them to be great, and instead enjoyed rather boring scenes. Yes Jeezy and TI were big too but there was never a true battle between them.

Wayne burned himself out with repetitive music. And I don't get the impression people hold him in the same esteem you'd expect a legend to get. Instead he exists like 50 Cent, a relic from a past era no one is interested in anymore.

I expect him to fall off as bad as 50 Cent in the coming years

I think he's just completely burned out :francis:. He's been in the game for over 20 years now. He just got :flabbynsick:. When they made the announcement about Collegrove I knew 2chainz was going to have to carry the album. But he REALLY carried the album
He left Wayne in the dust :francis:
Wayne hasn't put anything good in about 6 years now :francis:

Wayne's run was jumpstarted by hov's retirement, him sayin he was the best immediately after it, and flooding the market with collabos so no matter what kinda RnB/hip-hop you were into, you had at least one song you liked that Wayne was on. His run was based on that wave. Those conditions can't be artificially recreated.

He's been killing features again(smuckers, M's) but i think birdman's embargo got him in a creative rut, plus the industry has no laws to prevent shang tsungs anymore so his lane is diluted...:manny:

I always hated his shyt outside of the early CM stuff, but then magically I discovered Sorry For The Wait 2 mixtape and shyt was good! For me at least. But I'm not the target demo, cause if he washed up already I'm Father Time status haha
