Is it somewhat insulting/embarrassing that Albert is the head Trainer at WWE NXT?

Nothing against Albert, he was actually pretty good for his size, but I mean you work hard to get to WWE and then you are trained by Albert or even worse Hugh Morrus?

I would think they would at least get people who were semi main event - a Jericho, a Christian, Kane, idk. I feel like when you have mid card wrestlers training new wrestlers, and all the wrestlers that come out are not as big as stars as you want them to be, could the trainers have something to do with this?

When you had like a Steamboat or Dusty down there, these are huge stars in the history of wrestling.

Who is down there now?
Albert - Mid Card guy, big failure from the WWE side of things
Norman Smiley - Great hand in WCW, never got a shot in WWE, midcard jobber
Adam Pearce - Great Indy hand, never made it anywhere
Brian Kendrick - Great wrestler, WWE fired him for Weed and a midcard jobber
Robbie Brookisde - British wrestling legend, no one has ever heard of him in America
Terry Taylor - a laughing stock from the WWE side of things
and Steve Keirn - who is Skinner for fukk's sake

How do Mid Card guys (some perennial losers) command the respect of these trainees and inspire them to improve?

You cant teach charisma/personality but u can teach them better techniques/in ring work

So it wouldnt matter ifmain eventers are there
Agree to a point, when you are around stars, you learn how stars act in the ring, carry themselves, pacing in promos, cadence, etc...

well, considering Vince is the only game in town, then you have politics come into play with who they hire. So they end up get some guys who will basically be company guys, yes men.
Secondly, many of the older guys are sadly, passed away or in no shape to be teaching.

Would be great to have somoene like JAke or Flair teaching promo skills tho.

I can't believe that Hugh Morrus had a high position over there. :mjlol: He had no business teaching anyone anything.

I laughed my ass off when they first reported this joker moth3erfukker was a wannabe tough guy trainer..would of put a glock 45 under his chin first time he got slick.

Very few (if any) of the big stars in wrestling (Austin, Rock, etc) were themselves taught by big stars, so the logic behind this premise doesn't hold.
Rocky was a phenom on the mic and took it v to heights never seen before. He bled charisma. There is no teaching that..watching Blandy trying to copy Rock in those May and June 2004 Raws are PURE COMEDY.

.

Hasn't Jake been at the performance centre teaching the promo class before? I know for sure Hall has a couple of times.

The Dungeon, the Funking Conservatory (Terry and Doryx Funk) and Vernon Gagne pumped out the greatest wrestlers ever, so there goes your theory.
