Nah, can't agree at all. A Jay or Puff being revealed as the mastermind would be a godsend for Drake. Pusha would immediately be overshadowed giving Drake an exit strategy against an opponent he has no way of winning against and allowing him to lil nikka Push with some throwaway bars while entering a war of attrition with Jay or Puff.

Drake's already leaking so he'd be far less concerned with the consequences of exposing a big fish like Jay or Puff. They'd just be going back and forth damaging each other's brands until corporate interests stepped in to smooth things over.

It's better for Pusha if he's doing this on his own. Him being a hitman allows Drake an easy out and a narrative his team can grab ahold of and control.

Tbh it would be short to impossible for hip hop to return to lyricism and authenticity. Since like 04, once people(and cooperate sponsers) realized selling bullshyt was profitable and wouldn’t be so easily Dee-bod out by true hip hop purist, they ran with it and it went from everybody dancing with long tees to that auto tune/lil Wayne shyt in the middle to this non sense we have now.

Most people around these parts call it “biting”, especially when it’s done by a rapper they don’t like, but you’re correct, you have to clear it and it’s called interpolation.

On a note more related to this actual thread, this whole “Jay is involved” angle is really weird and one of the parts of beef I don’t like/get is everyone tryna play CSI and connect dots that really aren’t there.
