For me, Bernie Mac is #1.
The only comedian that could consistently make me laugh for an entire set no matter what.
Chappelle is up there because it's rare for a guy to be elite at both stand-up AND sketch comedy...similar to Eddie.
Redd Foxx was before my time but my parents said he was GOAT, so I gotta rank him high off that.
Martin was always overrated to me. He's near the top in terms of "off the cuff" humor. Him just standing on stage during Def Comedy Jam and clowning people in the audience was GOAT-tier shyt...but a legit set, I wouldn't put him in the class of Rock, Chappelle, Murphy etc.
Saw Eddie Griffin in person and he was hilarious as fukk. Did some tour with George Lopez, Charlie Murphy and Ced the Entertainer. EG had the entire arena (AAC in Dallas) rolling. Mexicans, whites, Asians and Blacks...that's hard to do.
Katt can be hilarious as well but I saw him about 3 months ago up at a casino in Oklahoma. He was decent but Mark Curry (Hanging with Mr. Cooper) was much funnier. Katt is crazy talented but he's falling into the same trap Chappelle is. They pick a couple of issues and grind it into the ground. Dave being political but abstract and Katt trying to out every celebrity in Hollywood.
I wish Paul Mooney was around because he'd be going IN on YamTitts Trump. That's missing with the current comedians outside of Godfrey. They imitate him but don't really attack him.
