It's a financial burden for single parents.

A psychological crutch for the child.

And the cancerous glue that holds bitter exs together.

Not my problem tho... so why should I care?

:pachaha:

It's not that it necessarily results in bad people..... but it does create a ....disadvantage for the next generation.

Without an example of what a male/female marriage and parenting dynamic in home and 24/7 folks are more likely to look to other outlets for information and a template for what it should be like.

Think how many people raised by unmarried parents or single parent homes also want to replicate that? Many don't. They usually STILL seek a marriage of their own despite their parents choices.

Enter moves, music, other people they don't know well. ..it yields people without the tools or insight to function successfully in the dynamics they desire, which equals hurt people and suffering families or communities.

It's not right or wrong, but it's not without consequence.

Born out of wedlock to a single mother is bad

Born out of wedlock to 2 parents is not

Getting married is beneficial though because of tax benefits and when you purchase a house

If you are not married you are by definition a single parent. Either you're married or you're single. You can be raised by two single parents.....but two singles often doesn't mean 50/50.

No. I always thought it was stupid trope used by white people to denigrate black people without appearing "racist".

Assuming both parents are in the childs life, please tell me what the difference is between

1) parents with children born out of wedlock

2) divorced parents with children

The two make up I'd say about 70-75% of the current parenting landscape.

I couldn't even tell you how many white kids I knew growing up who either had divorced parents or were raised by step parents. Hint: It was WAY over 50% probably more like 80%. When I was in the 11th-12th grade most of my white friends' parents were separated.

By the legal definition of the word single yes you're right.

If they live together and carry themselves as a couple it's no different from a marriage minus legal paperwork and tax deduction and asset dividing when. You break-up.

It can be a problem but I see it is becoming a problem that is less exclusive to our community. All them white kids on Teen Mom and Sixteen and pregnant.
