@labelplant you're my dude, but this thread is :trash:

The only good thing about this is we're gonna get to see how well Dwight and Gasol play without Kobe. If they're dominant during the playoffs, they will (never know with Pringles though...) have a new philosophy going into next season and Kobe will have to fit in once he returns.

Even though they weren't 100% early in the season, they should have been playing through them all year. D'Antoni did the poorest job of coaching I have ever witnessed with this team. If they'd have done the twin towers stuff to begin with instead of this run-n-gun shyt he had for 3/4 of the season, they would have clinched a playoff berths weeks ago and Kobe never would have tore his achilles.

But i thought all of us laker fans were pretty much in agreement that Pau has to go next year? Not because he can't be of value to this team or because he isn't great, but to save money and get some younger pieces? he's literally our only trade piece, especially with him being an expiring contract next year.

There is no way they can get equal value for him. He's of no use to any team outside of a contender and he makes too much to make a fair trade.

Of course it's better for the Lakers. They can maintain their delusions that this :flabbynsick: team can contend "think of what could have happened if we had Kobe out there ballin!" :skip: and Kobe gets to avoid having another playoff sweep on his résumé.

I suppose you're right. I just had a novel idea and decided to throw it out there for conversation. I never said I even agreed with the premise of the thread but I do still think there is some truth behind it.
