Sorry brother, the divorce rates are too high to not consider outcomes before you marry. People are people and so they can change. I've been married over 26 years and still going, that does not mean I did not consider how divorce would affect me when determining what sort of women I went after for marriage. It was one of reasons why I made sure I chose a woman that had a marketable college education and could take care of herself financially. Some others were concerns about how our family would fare if I ended up dead before our children were grown. I wanted to know my wife would be able to carry the load alone if need be.

When my brother in law married my sister she was educated and working, 13 years later she hasn't worked in 8 years due to raising 3 kids back to back to back. And daycare costs for three kids being more than what she would bring home after taxes, things change and can change in marriage.
