Memphis has ALWAYS influenced other southern cities.

From CRUNK to TRAP.

Alot of nikkas whole blueprint is Memphis.

If the city blows it will be well deserved.

This. There’s a lot of folks influenced by the Memphis sound that don’t even know that they are

yeah houston is WAY more influential than gets credited....and they get alotta credit.

Yep. They’ve had a lot of their sound siphoned and folks don’t even know it. But Houston and Memphis been directly connected since the early 90s, so I’m just glad the sound still stands, even if people don’t even realize they’re using it.

Houston's legacy overall is stronger than Memphis'. Memphis has a niche sound and a cult following but not on Houston's level...

Houston is a GOAT-level 2nd-tier hip hop city, with Philly and Chicago. Memphis not quite on that level but has a more than respectable history. I doubt any of these new nikkas gonna elevate the city's stature...
