while my computer still comes on after 30 seconds or so it hasn't booted up in months since it totally froze a few months ago..:what:I think constantly turning off my pc the wrong way over the years and one repeated session of quickly turning it off/on in hopes of fixing it may have burned out my motherboard...I took my computer to some shady looking cac bootleg computer technician/ cause he held on to my shyt too long without informing me on the progress..when i got it back i was told the motherbord was dead and I should just buy a new computer:bryan:...I don't trust this wood though so I took it to Office Depot and another racist cac without even doing any work on my computer suggested I buy some part and after I gave him the :wtb:look suggested the motherboard was dead too....right now some brother from my hood whom supposedly is a bootleg computer technician is looking at my computer but i'm afraid if he says he can't fix it my motherboard may be broken and I will have to purchase a new pc:sadbron:

The first cac prolly ruined your motherboard :bryan:

that's exactly what I suspect though it's doing basically the same thing it was prior to that roguish troglodyte touched it:manny:

i'm going to wait till the dude whom currently working on it right now gives me a 2nd opinion before deciding what to do next

:dead:

If it won't boot or only boots for about 30 seconds the motherboard is prolly fried. It's happened to me 3 times. The backlight might come on but your sh1t is over with. Get a new one.

What brand do you have? Last time my laptop bricked I got a Toshiba and it's been solid for 3 years.

damn..i thought if the light still coming and I can hear he engine running on there was hope that the motherboard could be repaired if what you saying is true I guess that's unlikely:sadcam:..i got a Compaq Presario Desktop and it doesn't boot up...the light in the back comes on but it doesn't load to my modem at all

i'm thinking of getting a laptop next cause they seem cheaper but I prefer desktop cause that's what i'm more accustom to

It's your decision but the transition from desktop to laptop isn't difficult, you'll just have to get used to using a touchpad. It's not like you gotta use a fukkin dot in the middle of the keyboard anymore, and if it still bothers you, get a USB mouse. You can spend $450 and get a decent laptop. Even with an extended warranty you would still spend less than what a desktop would cost you.

Motherboard does sound dead. How did you turn it off the wrong way? By pressing the turn off button?

yeah I am familiar somewhat with laptops due to borrowing one from my school library back in college...I'm more comfortable with the desktop/mouse but the USB mouse thing sounds like something I would be interested in if I decide to go that route...guess i'm old school..:manny:

while looking at laptops in the sales paper the other day I read something( in the small print ) about batteries that only last a few hours ...the statement alone makes me :camby:at the thought of coppin one...i'm already :mindblown:just thinking about my laptop shutting down in the middle of me doing whatever and having to wait for the shyt to recharge:scusthov:

I aint trying to spend $500 breh....I might as well get an all in one or a new desktop for that....nah the laptops I've seen(at Office Depot and Wallyworld) are cheaper or about the same as the desktop. I might have to settle for a laptop for now though cause it's only what I can really afford right now

it looks like it:sadcam:for the vast majority of the time(7 plus years) I would unplug the computer cord from the socket but started shutting down through the start up option when a cac internet installation dude told me that's how he usually turnoff his pc..but it really started fukking up/acting crazy/ a few months ago after I repeatedly clicked the on/off option on the outlet(my pc was connected to) within a relatively short period of time and gradually regressed since hen.

Laptops aren't cheaper and PC's tend to have a longer life than laptops.

i'm just going off what I've seen personally:manny:..the laptops(at Office Depot which is the only place I've been in that still sales tower desktops) are cheaper. This new all in one(tower less desktop/laptop hybrid ) thing seems right in the middle as far as price range between laptops and desktops...

like I said i'm most likely going to get a laptop to hold me down until I can afford an all in one/desktop...
