Is New Jersey's banning of Chief Keef one of the only bans that has held up?

I didn't even know you was Muslim too. That's what's up. And yeah that's how Flatbush was. It was the nice area of Brooklyn when my parents first moved there in the 70s (about 10-12 years before I was born) by time I was growing up in the 90s it was the worst. My high school (Erasmus Hall) had a fukking police station inside the school lol. Now when I go back it's pretty decent compared to when I lived there. They gentrified it. Mad white people are back there. Damn shame they don't clean up these neighborhoods until other races start coming back.
Now it's funny that you mention rocking your Yeezy's the first day there because the Weequahic section was always known for having the flyest nikkas in the city lol As you may know, the south ward or south side of Newark have 2 high schools (Weequahic High and Malcolm X Shabazz High School) Nye ave and bergen st is considered the cut off between the 2 areas. South of Nye and Bergen (where you stayed at) is the Weequahic section. We were always known to have the hottest gear, latest sneakers, whips, etc. North of Nye and Bergen was more black hoody, army jackets, rugged etc. I remember in the late 80's/90's Weequahic section and South Orange ave use to have a silent competition on who were the flyest in the city. I remember South Orange Ave nikkas were the first nikkas in the city rocking coogi sweaters back in 91/92 while we were on our Polo sh1t heavy

Yeah I didn't know about the fly connection, that's dope. I always was the fly nikka as far as dressing goes, (That's where I got the name Fresh from). And yeah I could tell the section I was in on Weequachic, nikkas was way more dirty with all due respect to them lmao. nikkas dressed in mostly regular tees and 60 dollar Nikes. They definitely weren't on that fresh shyt.

Newark reminds me a lot like Brooklyn to be honest

Definitely a lot of similarities. Newark and Brooklyn are like cousins because we were always the 2 areas in the tri state known for going the hardest. Plus people outside the tri state don't realize that we're literally only 20 minutes apart. Us heading over to Manhattan, BK, or Uptown to chill/hang is nothing because it's a hop, skip, and a jump away.

Yall gonna have to chill with those Jersey jokes :ufdup:

Right. Funny thing about the weequahic section (which is in the south ward or side of Newark) is that's where most of the city's politicians reside at. From council people and mayors, they all grew up and currently live in that area. But on the flip side, within the last 20 years, it has turned into the most dangerous/violent section in Newark. Back in the 60's, 70's, and 80's it was the central ward when it had all the high rise projects up (ie Prince st, Hayes Homes, Stella Wrights, Hill Manor, etc) that had that title in the city. Then during the 90's it was South Orange Ave and the number blocks that had the title. I'm not condoning it because I was apart of that lifestyle back then and I choose not to speak on it on this format. But Newark has always been a wild city from the days of the Mafia running North Newark and the Vailsburg section back in the 40's/50's. Now within the last few years you are starting to see more changes via gentrification. Especially in the downtown area. Eventually Newark will go the way of Brooklyn and Harlem but it's still going to be an uphill battle.

@Newark88

They already got Ironbound locked down in gentrification. Right now government officials are more concerned with making cities on the Morris-Essex line pop but once their done with Bloomfield and South Orange, they'll be back.
