Is our society becoming more cynical and jaded?

I'm asking because after looking at the comments of this vid and reading "this ain't big news" "this is not serious he just put her hair in a ponytail" and "this normal", I wonder if we have become so cynical that normal acts such as helping someone is seen as big news. This video has been viewed over 3 million times and people seem genuinely shocked at normalness....I know that's not a word so stfu

I heard in the 60's or 70's a lot of people lost their minds and joined gangs and a lot of places were lawless. Dads straight up left their families cause they couldnt put the bottle down

People are becoming more selfish and cautious.

The funny thing is that in modern day America, there is a commodity surplus, and people don't even have to be a$$holes to survive.
