Is punching power something you're born with, or can you build it up?

This has been debated before, and I'm re-stoking the flames.

We see relatively skinny guys like Duran, Julian Jackson, Hamed, Pacquiao, Hitman Hearns, even G-Man and Nigel Benn display some disgusting power

We see swole guys like Tim Bradley, Steve Cunningham, even Evander Holyfield to an extent that couldn't punch through a mound of ice cream

It has been argued that punching power is something that you're born with, while some people also like to say that Tommy Hearns developed his punching power in the pros.

So what do you think?

i believe there are born punchers...like they have the physical characteristics: broad shoulders, big hands, wrists, and forearms

i also believe you can improve punching power through different exercises and such

Yup, just like athleticism. Another thing that can be improved like flexibility/agility and mobility, but it will pale in comparison to a more natural athlete.

Do you think all quarterbacks have punching power? You got to have crazy arms strength to throw like them.
dont forget about pitchers.

Probably both.

I was mostly told it's something u can work on

But there's obviously Gon be somebody who has crazy power that's just natural.

Kinda like u can work on being athetic but there's some people just born with out of this world athetic genes - MJ, LeBron, etc
