Disrespectful way to approach this discussion with a headline like that, regardless of context.

Questlove is the latest rap figure to become sanitized for mainstream audiences as the learned cultural elder who explains things to the mainstream white audience. He's winning awards, selling books, doing movies...he's the guy. And I think it's unfortunate he decided to use that platform to shyt on a beef that even mainstream white audiences were fascinated by. Not to mention the fact that 22-23 years ago he was directly involved in a rap beef, backing Jay during that Unplugged performance of Takeover. A beef that had more risk of violence than Kendrick/Drake ever had.

We're at a point where a lot of older people from "the culture" are gonna be making statements we find weird, illogical, or inaccurate and we just have to realize they aren't speaking to us. They're speaking to THEM. White people.

Who cares about his opinion on the beef relative to his importance to the culture as a historian, music savant, musician, beat maker...

Are explanations only for mainstream white audiences? Are deep conversations beyond black people?

He's allowed to have a different opinion on the beef without Kendrick stans being weird about it. Uncle Ruckus? Really? :mjlol:

Questlove aka Baloo is nothing but a big Teddy Bear…

He’s one of those cats who wanna play the game and not step on any toes.

Dude has no nuts which was why Rosario Dawson gave Yassin Bey the cat instead of him.

People really need to get over themselves. Him especially, but goddamn, it ain't like the dude is out of pocket just saying bullshyt. Rather have dudes like him speak from a place that's sincere instead of try had dweebs like J Cole or that one weirdo who teaches at Harvard.

Just like Vince Staples with what he said about Kdot and Drake- I disagree with it, but man, let the dude have his opinion.
