now while dare iz a darkside ain't never been my favorite redman album, i can't front on how great of a mc redman was back then and just whole vibe of the album and it's cohesive sound. back durin' 94' and 95'(specifically like 92' to 96', i'd even say 98' because i fukks with doc's da name) redman was one of the best mcs in hip hop. but i'm interested in knowin' if any of y'all would say dare iz a darkside could hang with albums such as big's ready to die, nas' illmatic and gza's liquid sword :ohhh:

Frankly I wasn't feeling it all like that at the time.

Redman got like 10x better as a lyricist over the years.

me either
in fact, it's taken me years to come around to this album and i still don't like it as much as whut thee album and muddy waters

but i thought it was fair to compare it to those albums because it shares that same appeal :yeshrug:

Id compare Whut Thee Album to those other ones. Dare was almost too dark. I always like the album but it was a little too out there if that makes sense. Prolly my 3rd favorite album from him tho

yeah, i was just thinkin' because of how dark and hard (pause) red was comin' (pause) with it, made sense to compare it to liquid swords, illmatic and ready to die
