i'm watchin tv series in bulk (every season) of shows that i didn't give a chance that people said were piff....bout to finish with The Shield and i noticed rescue me was on for multi seasons too.....good shyt?

Hell yeah...one of the best hour long shows in TV history. The firehouse banter is classic damn near every episode.

It got nominated a couple of times, but it didn't win any major awards.

The show was good, but it was competing against some great television at that time. Personally I think Season 5 is the best. Season 6 wasn't that great from what I remember, but Season 7 was solid with a great ending.

Personally I think they should have explored a little more with the dead people around him as that was the best part of the show IMO, but I understand they also wanted to keep the mood up with the comedy as well. Leary's character "Tommy" had some deep issues that were never fully explored unfortunately.

S05E08 is probably the best single episode the show ever had and ironically it was the episode that had the least amount of sex or dirty talk in it. It was then that I thought the series was going to explore his troubles a bit more and close the show right when the 10th anniversary of 9/11 was coming up. Shows that Leary can also write dark when he wanted to.
