Is Rick Ross’ lyrical peak comparable to or even BETTER than Prodigy’s peak?

Someone really made this thread and people really are co signing?

Prodigy is a few notches above Rick Ross with the pen game and easily one of the best ever.

With out the money talk Rick Ross MCing isn't all that vivid. Prodigy was more versatile than that.

Prodigy wasn't the most versatile rapper in the world
He had his bread and butter no doubt...but if you really dig into his catalog...he covered a lot of subjects and employed a number of tactics.

And was still ready to stab your brain with your nose bone at the drop of a hat :pdahellclean:

As far as solo, do you think P has a classic? I don’t consider HNIC a classic ... I do consider it 4.5 mics. But not a classic.
It depends because classic ends up being subjective based on how others use it. Is it an undisputed classic like Infamous, It Takes a Nation, Chronic or Criminal Minded? No.

If one were to list a bunch of albums from the 2000s...then I would say yes.

Hnic still better than every ross album A solid 4/4.5 mic project

N mobb deep is classic cuz of p. Its not likr he was a minir player like say ugod on 36 chambers. His voice conbined with havs beats made mobb deep classic. Mobb is a top 10 hip hop act. If ross was lucky hes a top 30 act

Body of work vs body of work its not even close

HNIC wasn't a classic but P was basically the main event in terms of bars on both The Infamous (all time classic) and Murda Muzik (borderline classic). To me, judging him by his lack of a solo career is like downgrading Rakim's contributions because he didn't churn out classics after the Eric B split. What P did on the Mobb Deep albums cements his place in the game. No one really got at the heart of how depressing the street life really is like he did.

Don’t forget about Hell On Earth.
And P’s solo career was stellar considering it didn’t start until he was out of his prime.
Despite the fall off, he found a way to continue to make compelling music.
And Eric and Ra isn’t quite the same situation since Eric didn’t rap.

Hell on Earth was a dope but HNIC was most likely his best body of work.
When I heard this verse on Veterans memorial I had to pause the track and sit there for a bit. :wow:

It's hard to believe that nikkas so strong
Could die so easily forever be gone
I could still feel the web of your palm, against mine
'Cause we did our hand shake all the time

Why it have to be your time to go and not mines?
Spilled tears contemplating to my delf cryin'
All the laughs we shared and fights we had
All the nights we would get nice, damn
Plates of food we split in half
I dedicate the rest of my life to all my n* that passed

Classic level.

Prodigy in his prime is a top 5 candidate and Ross in his prime is top 20 something so no.
