Is Romano's death on ER the most bonkers sendoff for a Cast Member?

For those unfamiliar with ER, it was a long-running medical drama known for its gritty realism, depth. Then you had Dr. Robert Romano, the show's resident jerk: a brilliant surgeon but a complete ass. During an earlier season he had his arm chopped off by a helicopter. It just whomp, sheared it clean off while he was on the hospital helipad. But then a season later, Romano was later killed by another helicopter. This one straight-up fell off the roof and crushed him while he just screamed, "NOOOO!" before he got pancaked.

Lol @ that lady doctor (or nurse?; I don't fukking know; I didn't watch this show) looking around for Romano cuz she know he got that very specific helicopter fear and she knows this was gon set him off. If she only knew tho. :lupe: Guess he should've never decided to work at the notorious 'Crash Chopper Hospital' with that phobia.

Man I remember hating that dude. But I'm pretty sure I had already stopped watching the show at this point. Damn I missed out on a good laugh. But I'm getting it now.

Romano's was the most satisfying because he was a complete a$$hole. Classic example of someone entering the medical field mainly to display their intelligence. The other thing is that it was done on screen and not foreshadowed. It wasn't like Roseanne or the dude from Criminal Minds being fired and then having some crazy explanation why they're gone.
