Damn near every big city in the country is a blue city so naturally it will have more crime

The biggest red city is Jacksonville and there crime is on par with any other big city, it's actually worse than alot of them. Fort worth is the second biggest and they get quite a bit of crime as well

Blue cities tend to have a higher population density. More people will give you more criminals, and opportunities for conflicts.
