All of this is fair but that doesn’t mean he should be absolved from criticism. If Durant considers himself the best player in the league, his team shouldn’t be routinely underperforming when his costar is out.

Agreed, he should be willing to accept the criticism. I think KD realized that unless he ends up with a Jordan-like legacy, he'd always be criticized because of how talented/gifted he is. From that standpoint, KD figured that he might as well make winning as easy as possible. With Russ/OKC, winning one or two rings might be the ceiling. Might as well win a handful or rings if you're going to get the hate.

Offensively I feel like steph is easily the best offensive player EVER. The common 30+ point games in 3 quarters (where he just sits
In the fourth), while averaging 60/40/90. The difference is is that KD is close enough to steph offensively that his natural ability (aka long asf) helps makes his total package comparable/slightly greater than steph. I even feel like the best two player combo would be bron/steph not bron/kd.

If that's the case then why was y'all tellin me Steph was the new best player in the world during the 2016 season? And why are the Warriors so much better with just Curry and no Durant than with just Durant and no Curry?

I repeat, basketball is a competition and last time I saw Steph & KD on the court together as opposing players Steph Curry was clearly the best player on the floor. You can't erase that.

- Because Curry was the best player in the world during the 2016 season. He had one of the best seasons in NBA history until injuries slowed him down in the postseason.

- The warriors are better with just curry in the regular season because the team was built around Curry, not Durant, so naturally the players who rely on him more will benefit more with him on the court. He's also their point guard. He's the system of the team. KD is just the uber talented piece that fits into that system. That doesn't mean KD isn't the better basketball player.

this is false as hell. absolutely untrue. I dont want to see anyone hurt but man, I wish Steph wasnt around so we could really see if Durant could carry this team. he cant! its a great team, but Curry is too valuable to be missed. they can win the chip with Curry, they cant do it with Durant and that roster!

John Wall is my guy...but the fact of the matter is, Washington moves the ball better without him. as great a playmaker he is...he is a ball stopper. hopefully when he comes back he can adjust and they will be a better team.

likewise with Durant, as efficient as he is scoring, the team just doesnt move the ball as well with Steph being out. you will see him revert to OKC Hero Ball KD a lot. Steph gets them easy shots, with his skill set and with his mere threat presence on the court. without Steph everyone is forced to create their own shot more and the ball sticks more.

GSW won with Harrison Barnes. KD's contributions can be replicated. It hasnt been proven that Steph's can.

- Its not false. KD does do more things on the court. He impacts the game in more areas. Best scorer of his generation, elite defender, great rebounder, shot blocker, etc. Do you watch the games?

- GSW is not winning another championship without KD, nor would they have won last year.

- Why are we comparing John Wall to KD?

- Just so you know, GSW's talent isn't as OD crazy as you think it is outside of KD and Curry.

- GSW won with Harrison Barnes, and they also lost in part because of Harrison Barnes. No KD's contributions cannot be replicated. No other player is doing what he did in the finals last year against LeBron - Curry included.

Might be. That team is too talented to be losing against a Minny squad without their best player(butler). If I’m GSW I give Steph as long as he needs to heal and get that ankle right.

It’s ironic cuz Chuck said Houston needs Harden to play like an MVP for the rockets to even have a chance but that GSW can rest one of their top 3 every night and still compete and be a top team in the league

Maybe it’s Kerr we should be talking about being the underachiever instead of Durant...
