is Terminator 2 still the GOAT action film

2 was the best thing i ever saw when it was hot. It ran my world

I was so young when 1 came out. I had to watch it in retrospect to appreciate it.

Great 1 2 punch with very different approaches and tones with a consistent story

I couldn't get into anything after the first 2 lol

Went with the fam on day 1. Most hyped movie ever next to Batman 2 years prior and Jurassic Park 2 years later. ID4 also had similar levels of hype in 96. shyt hit different as a youngin.

But when those opening credits hit, I was like

The good ol days.

It may just be my bias

But i dont think there was another film that executed the film and accessory collaboration as big as jurassic park 2. There games clothes and toys were everywhere. And still are visible

I love 'Blade' more than anyone here but nah. The actual filmmaking of 'T2' is levels above it. The action set pieces are ridiculously well crafted.

The way blade changed the game was more about comic book characters becoming legit box office draws than the visual effects or set pieces or the actual filmmaking process. Outside of Jurassic park or Star Wars I can’t think of another movie from a technical or filmmaking standpoint that had the impact terminator 2 did.

Matrix is coo. I wouldn't be mad if it's in people's top 10 but for me its not a top 5.

extended version of Aliens takes about 40 mins to really get going last time I watched it. Might have the GOAT third act/climax though.

T2 is still the standard for me, it's hard to beat the craft that went into those action set pieces. Only movies that come close to me are The Raid movies, Mad Max: Fury Road, MI: Fallout and John Wick 4.

My dad took me and my sister to see it. He also got me the VHS, day one, when it dropped. He used to stay rewinding the part where the truck driver got thrown out lol.

Seeing this, TMNT and True lies in theater was some of the best times

I prefer the original as I think it has better writing and pacing, but the sequel is great also.

Aliens and T2 both shift into more action summer blockbuster elements, while Alien/Terminator has more suspense and horror elements.

I prefer the sequel more in that case, although as someone said above, Aliens does take awhile to really get going.

The terminator is a straight up slasher film. It’s an entirely different kind of movie from its sequel and I think Cameron made the right call going the way he did with it similar to aliens. It had to be way different from the original.

I was just watching it today for I don’t know how many times total.

It’s one of those very rare perfect movies.
