I hear what you're saying and agree with you in theory. I think albums like Royal Flush Ghetto Millionaire and Big L Lifestylez ov Da Poor & Dangerous qualify. Likwidation just wasn't that strong to me.

Classic, no, but its a very solid listen. It may be a regional classic. I will say this as a whole the Liks are an underrated group, I kind of put them in the same class as the Beatnuts, fun beats and classic individual tracks but so-so rappers.

He tried that ... his solo was Ok, but I don't remember it comparing to the Liks' albums.

I feel like the group were kind of prisoners of their own (minor) success. I always looked at them as an underground group that got signed, but could never quite put out the huge hit they were looking for (or under pressure to produce). If they just said fukk it and did what they wanted for an entire album, they might have a classic/near-classic -- but they probably would have gotten dropped before it got released.

Their first two albums are personal classics for me.

This album was kinda when I stopped fukkin' with them. It just didn't hit me like the first two joints. Can't really explain what it was, but I just felt like something was missin'.
