I think the site is a reflection of its mods and founding users. This has been a right wing site since it started. The window on what’s acceptable behavior for right leaning posters has shifted and so has the quality of the discussion.
We also have an unbannable assortment of right wing posters and trolls who are very active and vocal in TLR. Somebody makes the decision to let them keep coming back when far superior posters don’t get those chances.
