Is the fear of becoming/being old really such a horrible thing?

Just something I been thinking about all day. What inspired this thread is this old head I know that lives in the neighborhood. He's known for being everyone's dad so to speak and he's cool as fukk, I'm sorta in his inner circle. Instead of staying in the house, never leaving the porch like most senior citizens do, this nikka is still out here in the streets kicking it. Kicking it with the young nikkas...getting drunk and smoking blunts
Staying out to 3-4 in the morning
Bumping Future in his whip with some 12s in the trunk
Going to the club with his son who is also too old to for this shyt
Getting kicked out his wife crib, thus having to move in with his son and sleep on his couch

This old nikka gives 0 fukks and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon .


I'm not trying to shyt on the old man, but damn....dude must be terrified of the fact he's old & washed up. But its not just him, theres alot more people like him I'm sure in yall neighborhoods too. Is growing old really a bad thing? I know when I get in my 60s (If I make it there) I don't expect to be doing the same things I did 40 years ago.
Something is wrong with me if that ever happens..That means I failed


Note - Dude is in his mid 60's
