Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
I feel like most Midwestern cities have a correlation to both places. St. Louis comes off as the most unique Midwestern city outside the two.

examples - I see a lot of similarities in voices and music in places like Omaha, Milwaukee, and Louisville (south) to Detroit. Milwaukee is more weird cause it’s right next to Chicago.

Omaha

Milwaukee

Louisville

^^ est gee and 42 dugg use similar beats

But I see a place like Minneapolis that look like it has more of a Chicago influence in its culture.

Minneapolis - sounds like exactly like Chicago music - not much off beat rapping

Here in KC theres both sounds going on down here. Especially Detroit. Guess it depends on the city.

What's Akron or Columbus to you? I grew up in both cities

Minneapolis all the way to grand rapids is influenced by chicago.

Detroit has eastern Michigan all the way to damn near Pittsburgh if you ask me.

St Louis is in its own category

I'm not too familiar with KC or Omaha or any states that way

Yea I think Buffalo has some Detroit in its accent even tho Buffalo music is more influenced by old NYC

South Side Chicago to Nola
They are all different, but Chicago has its similarities to Detroit, Ohio in particular Cleveland is different, and St. Louis is different, it was said the bay heavily influenced Nebraska, they said Mac Dre had hella love out there. The Lou gets heavy southern influence but still Midwest if that makes sense. Minnesota is where Chicago nikkas go to get away from the city, when they either in the life and want out, or looking for cheaper cost of living

Buffalo nikkas literally sound like cross between Detroit and NYC.

Even take the legend rick James - his accent sounded much more in line with a Midwesterner ( Detroit, chicago, Cleveland Milwaukee) than a typical east coast person from NYC, Philly, Boston etc.

Which makes sense since Buffalo is a Great Lakes city

Why not? They have the most legit accents and have unique music flows.

white folks in the Midwest all look to similar to me.

I agree rap does show culture but the Midwest trend hops to much for me to think raps a good indicator for them

in 2005 a lot of those midwest cities copied bay area rappers and dirty south rappers while Chicago mainly had that pimp music

2022 Chicago main music is gang banging killa music while a lot of those Midwest cities mimicked ATL and Detroit music

I think the cities in the midwest are independent of each other
because they are all around the same size.

I looked up history for St. Louis and part of the reason why they are unique other than culture is because they were really trying to be the largest and most influential Midwestern city once upon a time
