been traveling for business all week.
Went through Ohio and Michigan, which I have never been.
I didn't see any Mexicans or Asians and Almost 90% of the waiters, fast food workers, maids, janitors were black people, and the professionals were all white. I ate lunch at very nice restaurant today, I was the only non-white customer and all the workers were Black Americans. Yet, from what I could tell, even the blue collar workers were also all white. It seems like black people are in a very desperate situation out there.
It was very unsettling. To be honest, I haven't felt such a tribal instinct alert in a long time. I really started thinking to myself" fukk these racist ass crackers." I could just feel their snooty attitudes and air of superiority.
I am so used to diversity in all socioeconomic tiers back in NorCal. Mexicans are represented in blue collar skilled labor and professional roles not just fast food and service positions. And of course, Asians/Indians and Africans are over represented in the professions. it's very comforting to be always be around that and only possible because of the immigration policies of the United States.
The Coli's consensus is to kick us Non-white/Non-black people out of the united states. However, there is a huge benefit to the H1b--without it , all of America would be locked in a racially defined economic class ladder.
In my home state, I see so many people that look like me balling like crazy and making power moves regularly. I am never the only non-white in the room, whether it be a nice restaurant or a board room.
it influenced me not to feel like my potential is limited by society..it's a feeling that I don't think black people in the mid-west feel. It's shocking and I get the angst the black people feel now.
I never understood the anger that black people had. I get it now though. It's fukked up out there in the rest of America.
