Is the planning and managing of personalities and desires around marriage one of the reasons brehs aren't getting married?

I've got some friends who've gotten married and a few more aiming to get married in 2024.

Hearing about the frustration about the planning, the costs, people who they don't even know demanding a say despite being the relative of another relative. The stress got my homies freaking out from time to time some of em just saying straight up "I don't want to talk about it" The way they talk about the whole process and even all the stress on the day--I gotta say, they ain't really selling me on it

And if the marriage doesn't work out and you've gotta get divorced? you did all of that and took an L

The simple solution to all of that is to not have a big wedding. Make it a small intimate affair. So no, weddings are not the reason why brothers are not getting married.

as a man NOTHING about the wedding is about you...its ALL her....and her friends will have waaayyyy more say than the groom

thats just how it is...if you went far enough to ask her...suck it up and get through it

Just a nice little cash grab for the church the state and the courts. Black men have decided to forgoe marriage and just be righteously attached.

I would strongly advise your homies to do the same. If the woman wants more security than that,get a life insurance policy. If you dont trust her not to kill you for the money. You definitely shouldnt be marrying her.

Two words: Destination. Wedding.

Fly out to a paradise get away of your choice and choose a fly package. Some as low as 4k. It cuts through a LOT of the riff raff. And those who can make it…will make it. It’s also the honeymoon/wedding in one.

Less money wasted feeding people who jealous of you anyway. More money to invest in your new life/mortgage.
