It's only going to get more extreme. Players from all positions, at all levels, are shooting it and it basically a prerequisite to having a functional offense in the league with the zone and the type of athletes we have out there. The good news is that it might actually be the cure to the other main complaint that people have...predictability. We will get to a point where everyone, at least all the good teams, are reliant on the 3. When that happens we will have more variance in the results, as the determining factor will move from which team has the best player to which team shoots the best from 3 for the series. The 3 pts shot, not matter how good you are at it, is still a wildly inconsistent shot. So if everyone is pinning their fortunes to that shot, everyone's play will vary accordingly. It will be kind of like baseball where the team whose bats happen to be the hottest, not necessarily the best overall, wins a series.
