Is there a bigger example of an rapper waisting a feature opportunity than Cory Gunz?

The biggest rapper drops his comeback single out of prison which has you on it, people love your verse, it’s a top ten record, and you do nothing with it :skip:

Didn’t drop a tape until like 8 months later, no single etc

Meh, dude is an actual lyricist, an actual wordsmith.

He's the type who people mock when they use the term "lyrical miracle".

I just looked this song up and it came out 2011?? Which means drill rap blew up the next year.

Mumble rapping like Chief Keef is what became hot the following year, not sure if the youth would have cared about a wordsmith like Cory Gunz regardless.

He gotten take off the song cause he bodied Wayne.

He also had a TV show a year or two after this that ended his career

It's funny because he was also originally on A Milli and killed that shyt too

Definitely wasted potential but some nikkas don't have it in them or want it

I was one of the youth bumpin him in 2011/12, that YMCMBMMG song with meek mill was hot back then in school

There's a wide range of styles that were hot then, we listened to chief keef but he was far from the hottest rapper in high school, it was drake, and cory would've likely been in that mix since he was in that crew. Even Gudda was getting drake features

Wayne is trash but the sheer amount of quotables in that song is still crazy. :wow:

"I got through that sentence like a subject and a predicate"

"Life is the bytch, death is her sister. Sleep is the cousin, what a fukking family picture
You know Father Time, and we all know Mother Nature
It's All in the Family but I am of no relation"

"Talking to myself because I am my own consultant
Married to the money, fukk the world, that's adultery"

"Got my heart broken by this woman named Tammy
But hoes gon be hoes so I couldn't blame Tammy"

"Never met the bytch but I fukked her like I missed her"

"Black and white diamonds, fukk segregation"

And of course one of the most iconic bars ever spit. :wow:

"bytch, Real Gs move in silence like Lasagna"

Last interview I saw of him was on Math Hoffa and he looked like he was on pills heavy.

If he had released an album in 2011 he would have at least gone gold with his own single/Wayne feature.
