Is there a mass exodus of people from GSDG to iPhone?

This goes both ways though? Your android phone having issues doesn't mean everyone else is having issues. And Iphones aren't immune to problems either. You can look on any forum to find complaints. dikk ride threads like this just beg for a bunch of comfirmation bias.

Comments like "iphone just work" don't make any sense to me. Android does the same shyt. It's not difficult. Want to just send texts and snaps all day? Both platforms do that very well. Androids only real issue is phones getting left behind too early. But that's the open source nature for you. Google can't force these OEMs to update their phones for years
You're right... This thread is about Android problems so that is what people are gonna talk about. I'm gonna let them cook. Sometimes the complaints are a bit outrageous and I have to post on it. As you can see it's that "iphone just works" opinion that irks me the most as it implies that Android doesn't just work. I just like to point out that Android does not require root or custom roms to be a good experience. Maybe I came on a bit too strong with the user error shyt. Not trying to come at yall brehs.
The iPhone is a better end user device with a better end user experience than Android phones. This is because unless you Jailbreak it the end user experience on all iPhones is pretty much the same.

I can take my iPhone off the charger at 9AM and at 9PM I've still got 30%-40% battery life left and that's leaving location services, wifi, and Bluetooth on all day and over 3 hours on screen on time. If I take my Galaxy S6 off the charger at 9AM by 1PM I'm putting it on the car charger just to make it through the day. When the phone is in standby it's still draining the battery at an alarming rate. I'm constantly turning on location when I need it and turning it off with I don't same with Bluetooth and wifi. I'm not really interested in micromanaging the phone on that level of turning features on and off and rooting so I can use Greenify and Wakelock detector and police the damn thing to stop some rogue app from draining my battery.

Android requires all this micromanagement that's a total putoff. with the iPhone you just use it, it works and it last all day easily.

I've been thinking of making the switch, but need to be convinced. I'm using an S4 right now, and its cool. I like it, but sometimes shyt gets laggy. I like the customization of android, and the ability to use an sd card. I now Iphone doesn't have that, I know cloud is available, but I'm just not sure.
Sadly a lot of phones are going the way of no SD cards.

:francis: Actually that shyt is a myth. Go look up all the non-nexus flagship devices that have came out or been annouced this year. Samsung is literally the only Android OEM that isn't supporting SD cards.

If you're an andriod user that's having problem with battery life and lag then you need to get Motorola Droid turbo or the Maxx. Had both when they launched and both never lag even after a couple months and updates. Might because they are borderline stock androids. It's the closest you'll get to a nexus with an outstanding battery life. And they both have 2 days battery. Only reason I upgrade to the Turbo cause my Maxx screen got cracked.

I just got a sign to give iPhone a try. I just got the "warning!!! A custom os can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications. If you want to download a custom os press volume up key".

Now my phone is being weird. Had it for less than 2 years. Gonna go get me a 6s plus in a few hours.

It's insane that my dual core iPhone 6s with 2 GBs of RAM and a 1715 mAh battery can give my 8 core Galaxy S6 with 3 GBs of RAM and a 2550 mAh battery a run for it's money and typically gets better overall battery life than the S6.
THIS

I'm still in GSDG but this point alone makes no sense to me. Its ridiculous how better Apple is at battery management. And if you look at all the arguments for Android in here NOBODY is willing to touch the battery management of Android compared to Apple. They already know Android loses in this department and it really isn't even close.

:dead: at some people with no tech acumen to speak of trying to pass off their biased opinions as fact.

So true. I wish the thin phones would have never caught on on the Android side. It makes a bad thing worse when the manufacturers aren't putting enough battery capacity in to handle the power hungry OS. When upgrading from 2.x to 4.x, the user experience was so much better because they were throwing more hardware at the OS. We've gotten to the point now that unless there's a major breakthrough in battery tech, the software will be responsible for improving the life of these devices. It's only so much you can do in the code if the core of the OS isn't efficient.

That isn't an android problem though but an OEM skin problem. My z3 is a beast on battery life and that's with out going into stamina mode. Most of the problems I'm reading in here are things that could be fixed with a few settings tweaks. Plus sharing pics and web pages is the easiset thing in the world since you can share it to nearly any other app. I should make a thread on how OSX sucks because I can't figure out how to use it properly.

Same thing has happened on every Nexus on vanilla Android too breh. The few devices that do get good to great battery life are either through additional manufacturer software optimizations (such as Sony did with your phone) or additional battery capacity. I said years ago that it would be great if the manufacturers shifted to making the experience better and contributed to android as a whole, but with money to be made that'll never happen.

As for the bolded, what's using it properly? Everybody keeps saying "you're using it wrong", but never names these supposed things that people aren't doing right. In my case, I've done all of the standard Android management things: I never used GPS (stayed off), turned off background syncing/app notifications, turned off Bluetooth when not in use, kept the screen brightness down, didn't have but a few apps installed and still had shytty battery life. I fall into the small group of who's not near a car or wall charger during the day so that advice doesn't work for me. My wifi randomly dropped when my other devices never lost a signal. To this day my N6 still doesn't connect properly to my car's Bluetooth even with Marshmallow. When I have to do that level of micromanagement on and shyt still doesn't go my way, the user may not be the problem.

FOH

Tell me few setting tweaks to improve a battery life ( FYI I already keep all non essential shyt off and screen brightness at its lowest)

Tell me setting tweaks to stop 5 sec lag on my camera

Tell me setting tweaks to stop bluetooth straight freezing my phone

All the answers I'm hearing in here are "go get a better phone"

So I need to change my phone every 18 months in order have a working phone
