Gawddamn that false advertising, no wonder it took months for my couch just to arrive...:mjlol:

Now if you catch them on the right day and time then you can buy the actual display that they have as they eventually need to get rid of it and bring in something new. That's how my mom got a new couch for her living room recently when my brother's job was trying to get rid of it on the cheap.

I personally wouldn't do it though since anybody can sit and lay on the furniture to try it out before buying :russ:

What about shops that have local inventory?!?:dahell:

The problem is that even for stuff made in the USA, the materials don't come from the USA. It's not just that Covid made a shortage because of people not going to work, it threw a monkey wrench in on demand manufacturing structure. In that system you wouldn't send the quantities you need to the manufacturer until the customer orders it. They're not going to order more of that loveseat, with the center console with an arm rest and drink holders, just because they have two left. Or none. This way they don't have warehouses of product not being sold. Then everyone was home, so all these retailers went through their entire stock. So now when it comes to ordering more, the manufactures are hit, because they're most likely not manufacturing for just one retailer. There's most likely a handful that are manufacturing for all the furniture stores across the globe. China is up and running, but there's still the logistics of getting all that stuff on ship. There's only but so many cargo ships, with retailers, not just furniture ones, with the same inventory problems who need to be restocked. We're probably not going to see things go back to normal for at least another year. Most people probably have the goods they want, on top of people saying fukk it because there's a six month delay. So retailers are probably going to take a hit in sales because of this, but it'll also give them time to restock.

This whole thing is probably going to change how, and where, manufacturing is done.
