I'm pretty much the same. Honestly though, I think it's because men are their funniest when put the spot, telling straight up jokes or doing physical comedy, whereas women fare better with things like sarcasm, deadpan humor or situational comedy.

The Kill Tony Podcast used to have a regular that ran off like 10 straight weeks of gold (granted that's just ten minutes of comedy). They started calling it "the streak" and ish. Her name was Ali Macofsky, I think she's got potential off those performances but never seen her rock a true set.
Most women comedians are trying to do their best funny man impression.

I'm genuinely excited for this.
Baby Cobra took me by complete surprise. I'd seen/heard her before on TV and podcasts but never seen her stand up but when I watched BC I was blown away.
