The technicality of a song is an objective metric and that's found in all genres.

Yes/No. Explain

Are classics objective?
Are good beats objective?
etc

absolutely. but insecure listeners will pretend otherwise.

Art like anything is made through a certain process and has certain 'ingredients', even if they're difficult to quantity. So we can say, 'this is the type of feelings/thoughts this art is working with and this is how well it pulls it off'. Obviously there is a subjective aspect to art. But there's an objective part to it.

What I used to love about hip hop is that the competition bar was placed so high that we could tell when someone was objectively dope. Because you had to be to compete. You straight up had to make undeniable records or you couldn't enter the game and certainly couldn't last in it.

Now that it's mediocrity paradise, that objectivity has been chased out and has been replaced by outright pandering. And pandering is subjective as fukk.
