When you think of popular black figures who were outspoken, the results are always the same: drugs, selling out, mental Illness, prison, blackballed, becoming a recluse, and even death.

Is there anyone who has escaped this fate?

For me, it’s someone who gets the bag and stops speaking on things pertaining to black people. Some might even consider being in an interracial relationship as selling out. I don’t think it necessarily makes you a sellout unless you talk down on your own people, but those who are in interracial relationships will lose some credibility. That’s one reason why 2pac stopped fukking with Madonna. I even saw some dumb negroes call Bill Russell a c00n because his wife was white.

Many so-called civil rights leaders like Angela Davis for example, managed to “escaped misfortune” by selling out.

A few blacks who were in that revolutionary era sold out to white liberals and made a pretty good living being petting zoo animals for white liberal engagements.

There are a few freedom fighters who actually escaped to Cuba and countries in Africa without selling out. Can’t recall their names off hand.
